Course Description

APQC’s three-day, virtual knowledge transfer specialist course provides a deep learning experience in how to transfer knowledge. The curriculum combines our proven methodologies, best practices, and techniques with real-world experience for fostering systematic and organic knowledge transfer. Participants will work through actual scenarios to identify, design, implement, and sustain knowledge transfer. Participants will also learn effective change management and communication strategies and walk away with skills that can be applied at the department level or in an enterprise-wide setting.

Walk away with proficiency in:

  • Identifying knowledge transfer drivers and opportunities
  • Assessing the degree of knowledge transfer needed          
  • Embedding knowledge transfer processes into KM approaches and/or business processes
  • Describing the roles of change management and technology in the knowledge transfer lifecycle
  • Understanding the difference between a knowledge transfer event and a knowledge transfer lifecycle              
  • Applying measures that demonstrate the performance of the knowledge transfer lifecycle
  • Explaining how stakeholders, knowledge management, continuous improvement, and learning sustain knowledge transfer

To be certified, you must:

  • Attend all 3 days from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST
  • Keep web camera on at all times during active lessons
  • Participate in team/group activities
  • Present a work plan of how you will apply the foundational principles of knowledge transfer to your final project. 
  • Pass an end-of-course assessment
