Course Description

Knowledge is necessary to get work done, whether that is competency/expertise in a function or technical skill and insights into the rules, constraints, and how you collaborate with others. Knowledge exists in many forms and this course clarifies what knowledge is and how it is related to data and information. With that foundation, common techniques to get control of knowledge are introduced and how they are collectively knowledge management. Participants will leave this course with a roadmap to all things knowledge which can be used to organize ideas and gain clarity with their efforts to improve knowledge capture, transfer, and reuse.


This course will teach participants:

  • The differences between knowledge and knowledge management
  • Why organizations leverage knowledge management
  • Common knowledge management objectives
  • How knowledge management enables knowledge flow
  • Challenges organizations have with knowledge and the impact on knowledge management
